Rainbow Springs Swimming
Swimming at Rainbow Springs was an unexpected event during our visit to this beautiful Florida State Park. My son had two park wishes during our latest visit to Florida: see palm trees and beautiful water. What we didn’t plan on was swimming. We found this special state park, only 20-25 minutes from our lodging at the World Equestrian Center.
The Headsprings is where the pictures in this post were taken.
Directions
For swimming plug in: Rainbow Springs State Park 19158 SW 81st Pl Rd, Dunnellon, FL 34432
We found out the hard way that only putting in Rainbow Springs State Park led us to the Rainbow Springs Tubing Rentals then when we tried again, we were led to the Rainbow Springs Campground on the other side. The third time was a charm. If your map app is stubborn, try putting in Headsprings.
What’s the Temperature?
Rainbow Springs is 72-degrees year-round.
Are there alligators at Rainbow Springs?
We didn’t spy and alligator or crocodiles but we did see plenty of birds and squirrels. This region is known as the home to these wide-grin creatures, so take the sign’s advice and use caution when swimming in Rainbow Springs.
